All construction must meet or exceed the 2021 International Building Codes.
All contractors must have copy of licensing and bonding information with (Contract Bond $5,000.00) on file with the City prior to starting work, and the contractor must obtain any needed permits.
A permit must be obtained and the fee paid in full to the City of Pinehurst before any building or structure is moved, relocated, remodeled, demolished, or before any new construction is begun in the City. Permits may be obtained at front office of City Hall.

$500,000.01 or more $2,184.00 + $3.00 per thousand
Penalties:
Where work for which a permit is required by this code is started or preceded prior to obtaining said permit, the fees specified shall be doubled, but the payment of such double fees shall not relieve any persons from fully complying with the requirements of this code in the execution of the work, nor from any other penalties prescribed herein.
Building permits: are required to move in, erect, enlarge, alter, remove, demolish, or repair a structure.
Electrical permits: are required for the installation of new electrical service equipment, existing service relocations, services increases, as well as fixed appliances and equipment connections. NEC2014
Mechanical permits: are required for the replacement, repair or alteration of mechanical systems in structures.
Plumbing permits: are required for all plumbing work including water services, drains, water mains, sewage disposal systems and related fixtures and appliances. This includes gas lines, propane tanks, installation of sprinkler systems and associated piping for flammable liquids.
